10K Positives and Negatives

Alright, so here's what I thought about the race:
Liked: -the volunteers at the water station- so bright and cheerie
-the food after the race- plenty of water, oranges, bananas, strawberries, pretzels...
-the course- not very hilly, fairly easy

Did not like:- the shirts- yes, they were tech shirts, but they were WAY too tight and I even got a size up due to the "women's shirts run small" recommendation
-the water and everything for after the race was up a steep ass hill from the finish line... do you WANT me to be pissy at the end of the race?!?!?
-the last .2 or even .1 was FREAKIN STRAIGHT UP HILL I was cruising until the last minute... grr. Also, the water was served in these TINY plastic cups. I grew out of sippy cups when I was THREE- can I have an adult's sized please? I just ran over SIX FREAKIN MILES!
-the guys at the turn around points were TOTAL jerks. One of my friends who came to cheer said she heard him say "are you the last one, fat guy? Did you just see all the GIRLS that are beating you? Pick it up" - what an asshole!!
-no mile markers. No way to tell what my splits were. They said the people at the turn arounds and whatever would tell us how far along we were- they didn't (see bullet above)
-NO space for cheer-ers... The entire course was on a path or a greenway, with pretty much no room for people to cheer you on
-The race director at the beginning basically yelled at us and told us how hard the course was going to be, and then talked about how awesome his wife is and how we should thank her for volunteering at one of the water stops. Get over yourself and be a bit more cheery, please.
-The bathroom line was freaking RIDICULOUS! Not enough bathrooms for everyone to go before the race= some UNHAPPY runners (and woods that are full of bathroomers)

Overall, it wasn't a terrible race (despite the inordinate amount that I didn't like vs. the stuff I did). I would do the 10K again... I don't know that I would do the half, even if I was in half shape just 'cause the course is supposedly BRUTAL once you pass the 10K part (you have to go up and down "cemetary hill" TWICE).

Rest day was yesterday and I'm doing a 4-miler today. Hopefully the weather clears up a bit and the humidity clears out before then. It has been raining for like 36 hours straight at this point, but it's supposed to clear out before this afternoon. Hoping for a good faster-than-the-10K pace today... we'll see how it goes! :)
